BioPure Chinese Skullcap, Scutellaria baicalensis, also known as Huang-Qin, or Baikal Skullcap, is an herb in the Lamiaceae (mint) family. Skullcap gets its name from its blue to purplish-pink flowers that have a shape resembling a medieval knight’s helmet. The Chinese have used the herb in traditional medicine for over 2000 years. In Ayurvedic medicine, Scutellaria is considered a cooling herb.
